I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 966 - 965: Nie Yunsheng

Chapter 966 - 965: Nie Yunsheng

"What changes?" Hao Rong asked. He spoke excitedly but had never truly tasted this liquor. He was underage, and drinking was something he did secretly, like smoking; it was more about showing off, rather than truly savoring it. His family certainly wouldn’t waste such a precious drink on him.

The young man gently sipped a mouthful, finding the aftertaste lingering, and said, "These changes are indescribable and can only be understood through experience. If you want to know, why not try a glass yourself? Oh, by the way, this liquor is quite strong, so be careful not to drink too much."

After speaking, the young man left smiling. He merely wanted to see what was special about these three kids that Mr. Yu had brought in, and he was quite disappointed.

Hao Rong’s eyes lit up as he turned to look at the wine jar, reaching out to grab it, but Luo Yirui stopped him. Luo coolly said, "I’d advise you not to drink it. If you get drunk, we’re not taking care of you."

Hao Rong felt tempted, wanting a sip eagerly, but was afraid Luo Yirui would truly leave him alone, so he smacked his lips and said, "I’ll just have a sip, definitely not enough to get drunk!"

Saying this, he didn’t wait for Luo Yirui to refuse, brushing off his hand and poured himself a tiny amount, just about two sips. Seeing this, Luo Yirui just let him be, knowing this kid liked to show off but was aware of what he was doing.

Hao Rong did this to have bragging rights for the future; he wasn’t really interested in the liquor itself—he preferred cola. The sip would at least let him boast about having tasted a jar of liquor worth over eight thousand when he returned to school.

Hao Rong sipped a little, imitating the young man’s manner by closing his eyes to savor it, then almost cried tears as he thought, ’Damn, it’s spicy...’

Luo Yirui shook his head. This liquor was meant to alleviate ailments like rheumatism. His mother would always send it to Grandpa, whose rheumatism greatly reduced over time after drinking it. Later, Uncle Ma Tianlai started promoting it in the market, and it became quite popular.

So, indeed, it was a fine liquor, with notable benefits. Hao Rong’s small sip would have no effect, maybe just a minute boost to his immunity, insignificant at that.

While Hao Rong drank recklessly, Jing Changle started tasting items on the table. He was very disciplined, not wanting to be seen as rude or drag Luo Yirui down with him, so he ate very modestly, far from a ravenous manner.

Luo Yirui wasn’t interested in this kind of food; he had developed a fussy palate, and these were hardly gourmet dishes to him. Every time Heavenly Blessing had new or special cuisine, Uncle Ma would have chefs come and prepare them for them.

He glanced around, observing small groups chatting amongst themselves. Some held Xuan Talismans, others had small boxes used for storing herbs, revealing this was indeed a marketplace, and quite an upscale one at that.

He noticed a small pavilion by a fake mountain and flowing water where a lone table sat. Seated there was a man in his forties, looking very refined, exuding an air of nobility in his gestures, with a gentle smile that conveyed tranquility.

Beside this man sat two men and a woman, one of whom was the young man who spoke earlier. The other two appeared to be in their thirties, with perceptive eyes.

The most notable thing was their full and vibrant spirit; Luo Yirui had no doubt that this man and woman in their thirties could definitely execute Spiritual Talisman?!

The young man seemed to still be a bit short.

He internally marveled at encountering such experts at a local Mystic Doctor gathering, as they were said to be rare, and here he was stumbling upon them.

However, the most astonishing aspect for Luo Yirui was the refined man, whose aura felt incredibly profound, unable to grasp the state of his spirit.

He had experienced this sensation before, unable to perceive his mother’s, Grandpa Desan’s, or Grandpa Qiao’s spirit status, suggesting this man was at their class—Great Power!

Luo Yirui was taken aback, as Great Power figures were typically seventy or older. Obviously, his mother was an exception!

Why was there such a young Great Power, and how come he’d never heard of him?

While Luo Yirui observed the man, the man’s gaze met his. Luo instinctively wanted to evade it, but then realized doing so might seem insecure, so he awkwardly gave a smile and turned to eat.

As Luo Yirui ate, he tried to compose himself; that look was intense, almost as if it penetrated him, leaving his back drenched.

"Sir, is there something?" The woman beside the Eight Immortals table inquired cautiously.

The man withdrew his gaze, carrying a hint of doubt, yet ultimately shook his head, saying, "Nothing."

The young man, with a plate of cold dishes, had his liquor set aside and casually said, "The sir was observing those kids, invited by Yu Junpei. I just checked, and it was merely directions gone awry. Kids today are certainly tough to handle."

The woman furrowed her brows, sternly said, "Restrain yourself in front of Mr. Nie!"

The young man rolled his eyes, shrugged, and continued eating his cold dish.

Mr. Nie chuckled, "It’s okay, Shaoxian is just lively."

The woman sighed, glancing at Zhong Shaoxian, "Mr. Nie spoils him too much."

Mr. Nie sipped his tea gently, "Invite Mr. Yu over for a moment."

With that, the man nodded, rose from his seat, and exited the pavilion to extend the invitation.

Yu Junpei was a bit surprised to hear Nie Yunsheng wanted to see him, but after informing his two old friends, headed towards the pavilion.

The two old friends exchanged surprised glances.

"My old friend, through our many years of friendship, I’m offering you this price. This talisman medium mimics the Qingyu School’s, closely resembling the Qingyu Talisman Medium!"

"Isn’t it still fake?"

The previous man became displeased, "What do you mean fake? Its effectiveness isn’t lacking; it’s merely likened to Qingyu."

Luo Yirui turned to see two men on the other side of the table disputing over a talisman medium, which clearly seemed inferior to that used by Uncle Jiang.

"Has the young master of Qingyu been found?"

The voice from the other side piqued Luo Yirui’s ears.

"Not yet, and if not for this event, no one would have realized Qingyu’s vast influence. Those who doubted Qingyu’s eligibility as a major school are all proven wrong now."
