Chapter 467 - 466: Car Accident
Out of the airport road, the two hurried towards the hospital in the city.
Archer Quinn knew Bella Acker was anxious, so he tried to drive as steadily and quickly as possible.
Not far from the hospital entrance, Archer Quinn parked the car in an open-air parking lot, and the two walked together towards the hospital.
Archer Quinn said, "Bella, we’re almost at the hospital. Don’t worry, take a breath."
"Mm." Bella nodded, responding verbally, but her pace didn’t slow down at all, eventually breaking into a light run.
Archer Quinn worried she might not notice the vehicles around due to her anxiety, so he stayed close by her side, protecting her.
Vivian Norris randomly picked up the wine placed next to her and took a sip, driving ahead in a daze with half-closed eyes.
She had completely lost her backing now, abandoned as she was. Just yesterday, she even faced scenarios like in TV shows, with black fans throwing raw eggs at her. Moreover, this video was captured and uploaded online, garnering likes and applause from countless netizens, with few sympathizing or speaking up for her.
The once endlessly glorious actress now lives less openly and brightly than an ordinary person. Vivian Norris was almost driven mad, resorting to cigarettes and alcohol everyday to numb her nerves and escape reality.
"A bunch of snobs who look down on others. Just wait until I turn things around, I’ll show them!" Vivian Norris spat viciously, raised the wine again, and continued drinking.
"Hey! Somebody—"
"Stop quickly! You’re going to hit someone!"
Vivian Norris still had wine in her mouth, listening fuzzily to the loud clamor from outside the car window. She opened her eyes to look ahead, only to see pedestrians crossing the zebra crossing while her car hadn’t stopped, continuing forward.
Vivian Norris suddenly opened her eyes wide, shouting from her mouth, immediately turning the steering wheel and stepping on the brake, "Get out of the way! Get out of the way! Quickly, get out of the way!"
But she was drunk now, panicked upon seeing the impending collision, inadvertently treating the accelerator as the brake. The car not only didn’t stop but sped up as it rushed forward.
The mother leading a child across the red light was dumbfounded, watching the car brush past them, only able to hold the child tightly.
Bella Acker was eager to rush to the hospital, never expecting such sudden misfortune.
"Bella, move!"
In the nick of time, Archer Quinn suddenly pushed her up onto the steps at the side of the pedestrian path.
Bella’s eyes widened as she watched Archer Quinn get hit and thrown by the car hood, her heart skipping two beats.
"Bang!" The car hood hit the steps and finally stopped. The roadside turned into chaos, pedestrians on this side terrified, stepping away without anyone daring to approach and check.
Bella paused, finally snapped out of it, and stumbled out, "Senior Quinn!"
The man, handsome yet now lying on the ground with his head bleeding, had no reaction.
"Senior Quinn?" Bella called out, noticing he still didn’t respond, tears instantly welled up in her eyes, "Senior Quinn, you can’t die!"
Her hands trembling, she reached into her bag for her phone, intending to call 120, only realizing now that she hadn’t turned on her phone since disembarking the plane.
Bella’s hands shook as she turned on the phone, and before the system could completely respond, she dialed 120. The phone rang twice before connecting, "Hello, we... we’re at the intersection of People’s Road Section One and Two. There’s been a car accident, please come quickly."
"Okay, don’t worry, we’re coming immediately."
