Chapter 756: Capturing a Pseudo-type
Chapter 756: Capturing a Pseudo-type
The living room space was left to Sterling Norwood and Selena Kensington.
Sterling Norwood passed a plate of caramel pudding, which Selena Kensington instinctively took.
She listened to Sterling Norwood as she ate.
"The old town has a somewhat special location; it leads to many places, and checking them all will take some time."
Hearing this, Selena Kensington nodded as she continued eating.
Sterling Norwood raised his hand and gently held Selena Kensington’s falling strands of hair, "But since Felicity Dalton is also an impostor, the only place she can go to is the Godsbane Organization..."
"Do you mean there’s a possibility that the Godsbane Organization still has a base in Aethelgard?"
Selena Kensington asked in confusion.
Sterling Norwood looked deeply at Selena Kensington, then slightly averted his gaze and changed the topic, "Just now, we captured an impostor."
Selena Kensington’s eyes widened slightly.
She was surprised, yet also felt a little enlightened.
No wonder Cole Vaughn took more than an hour to get back to her.
He must have been handling that situation.
However...
Selena Kensington glanced at Sterling Norwood, snorting softly, "So, you did so much behind my back."
Sterling Norwood grew a bit nervous, gently coaxing, "These things don’t need to trouble you by bringing them to you."
Hearing Sterling Norwood’s words, Selena Kensington playfully stuck out her tongue.
She didn’t really want Sterling to report everything to her.
Though married, they still needed a bit of personal space.
Even she didn’t tell Sterling everything.
Both understood that some things were better left unsaid.
"So, where did you take him?"
After finishing the caramel pudding, Selena Kensington naturally handed over the empty plate.
Sterling Norwood took it with ease, placed it on the snack rack, and then offered another plate of dessert to Selena Kensington.
After doing this, he continued, "Training Camp."
Selena Kensington was somewhat curious, "How did you catch that impostor?"
She had thought the only Godsbane members in Aethelgard were Zoe Sinclair, Cole Vaughn, and that woman with unusual eyes.
She didn’t expect Sterling Norwood to have caught another impostor.
It seems this time, many members of the Godsbane Organization were hiding in the shadows.
"The two impostors were somewhat unstable. I had people tail him for a while. Eventually, his capability spun out of control, exposing him, and I took people to capture him alive."
Sterling Norwood explained.
"Would he know about the Godsbane Organization?"
Selena Kensington asked.
The impostors were probably key operatives in the Godsbane Organization, right?
Often, when the Godsbane Organization moved, they would dispatch impostors directly.
Sterling Norwood shook his head slightly and then methodically said, "His mental state is very unstable, and his capability seems on the verge of collapse. He’s probably an abandoned pawn of the Godsbane Organization. Someone like him wouldn’t know anything about Godsbane."
Hearing Sterling Norwood’s words, Selena Kensington abandoned the idea of extracting information from the impostor.
Sterling Norwood cast her a glance and continued, "I’ll go down to interrogate him later. Will you rest a bit after eating?"
Even though Sterling Norwood believed no useful information would come from the impostor, he still needed to conduct an interrogation.
There might be some loopholes to uncover.
Selena Kensington perked up when she heard Sterling Norwood mention interrogating the captured impostor, "I want to go too!"
Her eyes sparkled with anticipation.
Sterling Norwood paused, gently reminding her, "It’s not a good idea for you to go."
Selena Kensington pouted, "Why not?"
Sterling Norwood raised his hand, gently placing it on her head, and calmly said, "Some bloody scenes aren’t suitable for you."
The interrogation subject being an impostor meant normal interrogation methods wouldn’t suffice.
The Norwood Family’s interrogation techniques were something Selena Kensington hadn’t experienced directly.
A family so vast probably had some dark means.
Selena Kensington knew Sterling Norwood worried she might have an adverse psychological reaction.
But she understood herself well, knowing her mental resilience exceeded Sterling’s imagination.
So, Selena Kensington puffed out her belly, signaling to Sterling, "Don’t worry, my mental strength is strong."
Sterling Norwood chuckled, then glanced at her belly.
"You might withstand it, but those two in your belly might not."
"..."
Upon hearing this, Selena Kensington paused in silence.
Oh.
She forgot she had two delicate babies inside her.
Yet she still wanted to go and see, so she tentatively suggested, "Then... after you break him, I’ll go in?"
Sterling Norwood raised his eyebrows slightly, "You really want to go?"
Selena Kensington sensed hope in his words and nodded eagerly, "Yes, yes!"
She then raised three fingers, pledging, "I promise, I’ll just watch! I won’t cause trouble!"
Seeing Selena Kensington being so obedient and earnest, Sterling Norwood couldn’t help but find it amusing.
"Alright, I’ll take you."
Selena Kensington’s eyes brightened, then she glanced at the desserts on the rack, paused, and picked up a plate of snacks.
"Let me finish eating first."
"..."
Sure enough, in his wife’s eyes, food was still more important.
When Selena Kensington had almost eaten enough, Sterling Norwood, thinking she might not have an appetite for lunch if she kept eating, stopped her.
After that, he took Selena Kensington to the training camp.
*
At the training camp.
Selena Kensington hadn’t been there for quite some time.
The training camp, however, was as it was before, with no major changes.
When Selena Kensington and Sterling Norwood arrived at the training camp, Spencer Norwood was already waiting at the entrance for them.
"Brother, ... sister-in-law is here too."
Spencer Norwood was slightly surprised to see Selena Kensington with them.
"Hmm."
Sterling Norwood held Selena Kensington by the waist and didn’t say much.
Seeing this, Spencer Norwood didn’t ask further.
He led Selena Kensington and Sterling Norwood past some buildings in the training camp, arriving at a relatively inconspicuous building at the back.
"The impostor is inside."
Spencer Norwood said.
"We just injected him with a sedative; he’s calmed down now. But we don’t know how long the sedative will last on him."
Sterling Norwood acknowledged with a sound.
"Did you extract his blood for analysis to determine which Fell Bloodline it belongs to?"
Spencer Norwood nodded, "We did. Dr. Norwood and Sean Norwood are still analyzing it, and it’ll take some time to get results."
"Got it."
Selena Kensington quietly blended into the background, listening to the conversation between Sterling and Spencer Norwood.
As Sterling and Spencer Norwood talked for a while, someone suddenly rushed out from the inconspicuous building.
Selena Kensington glanced at the person, noticing their facial features resembled Sean Norwood’s somewhat.
