Chapter 1134: Who Is the Child’s Father

In the children’s restaurant, Janelle sat at the table answering the phone, discussing a co-branding collaboration with the person on the other end.Noah sat beside her, eating pre-meal snacks; Chase sat across from them, engrossed in a book.

Wayne Archer arrived late, seeing Janelle on the phone, he just smiled at her and then sat next to Chase.

"Uncle Archer, do you want a small bread roll?" Noah generously shared the snack she found delicious.

Wayne laughed softly, patted the child’s head, and said, "Thank you, Noah, but uncle doesn’t want any."

At this moment, Janelle hung up and moved the plate in front of Noah, saying, "Eat less, or you’ll be too full for the meal later."

Noah exaggeratedly opened her arms wide and said, "I can still eat this much!"

Janelle teased her, saying, "If you don’t finish a bowl of rice later, you won’t be allowed to go back home."

Noah, stuffing a small cake in her mouth, confidently said, "I can eat two bowls!"

Wayne laughed dotingly and handed a paper bag to Janelle, "You’re almost out of the previous medicine, right? I asked a friend to bring a few more boxes."

Janelle smiled as she reached out to take it, "Just in time, thank you."

Noah turned and asked Janelle, "Mom, why do you need medicine?"

"Adults are talking, don’t interrupt. Chase, take your sister to see the crabs over there."

Reluctantly, Chase put down his textbook. Seeing her brother agree to play with her, Noah happily held his hand and went over to the aquarium.

After the children left, Janelle said to Wayne, "Actually, I planned to finish the medicine at home and then try a different hospital."

Wayne was taken aback, "Why?"

Janelle sighed and said, "I’ve been taking the medicine for so long, and regularly going for checkups, but there’s no effect. I still can’t remember anything."

Wayne softly comforted her, "Don’t rush, take it slow."

After a moment of contemplation, Wayne continued, "Actually, you don’t have to be too obsessed with the past, isn’t the current situation quite good? If you really can’t remember, maybe it’s best to let it go. Memories can often be painful."

Janelle cradled the glass in front of her, smiled faintly, and said, "Actually I’ve thought that too, but I’m still curious about my past. The most important thing is... I want to know who the children’s father is."

Hearing this, Wayne’s smile froze: "Do you still want to find that man?"

Janelle shook her head, feeling a bit lost, "I don’t know, I just feel that clearing everything up might make me feel better. Even if I find out, it may not change anything."

Then, both of them fell silent, seemingly thinking of the man who resembled Dominic Tollman in appearance, but refrained from mentioning him due to their own reservations.

After a moment of silence, Wayne advised Janelle, "You’re the only one who has amnesia, if he wanted to find you, he wouldn’t still be absent. To put it bluntly, he probably doesn’t want to have any involvement with you guys, so he’s deliberately avoiding you. Perhaps he already has his own family. Don’t be fixated."

Janelle exhaled deeply, staring at the transparent water in her glass.

"Janelle..." Wayne gently called her name, and after Janelle looked up at him, he continued, "You know I’ve always been waiting for you."

Janelle froze, looking a bit troubled.

"I’m not trying to pressure you, I just think you should let go of the obsession in your heart, don’t let the past affect the present. Can we... be together?"

Wayne didn’t intend to rush it, but the appearance of Arthur Sutton gave him a strong sense of urgency.
