Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!

Chapter 1135: A New Dad

Chapter 1135: A New Dad

Janelle Tollman put down the cup of water in her hand and pressed her lips together, looking somewhat hesitant. It’s not that she hesitates to agree, but she doesn’t know how to refuse in a more appropriate manner.

"...Brother Archer, I really thank you for taking care of my family, but I feel that before I find my past, making any decisions would be irresponsible to others and to myself, so...I’m really sorry."

Wayne Archer hid the disappointment in his eyes and said with a gentle smile, "It’s okay, I understand how you feel. You’re worried that there might be someone waiting for you in the past, or that you have forgotten someone important, right?"

Janelle Tollman shook her head somewhat dazedly, "I don’t know, I just feel very uneasy. Brother Archer, with your qualities, you can find a great girl. Don’t waste your time on me, I probably... don’t plan on getting married."

Wayne Archer felt a bit defeated, but he also didn’t know how to persuade Janelle Tollman.

He glanced at the paper bag containing medicine beside Janelle Tollman, his expression somewhat complicated.

"Mom, our food is here!" Noah ran back, followed by the waiter carrying their dishes.

Janelle Tollman stood up and took the child’s hand, "Don’t run around, what if you bump into someone? Go tell your brother to wash hands and get ready to eat."

With the children around, the two of them did not continue the earlier conversation.

Wayne Archer was still the same as before, speaking and chatting gently and tenderly with the children.

Watching this made Janelle Tollman feel a bit guilty.

After returning, she seriously thought about what Wayne Archer had said.

Am I being too stubborn?

"Mom, can you tell me a bedtime story tonight?" Noah, holding a storybook, said to Janelle Tollman who was sitting on the sofa, "This is a new storybook Uncle Sutton bought me before, there are many words I don’t recognize."

Janelle Tollman put her thoughts away, reaching out to take the book from the child’s hand, "Okay, you go back to your room and wait for mom, mom will check if your brother is asleep."

"Okay!"

After making sure Chase was asleep, Janelle Tollman went to Noah’s room.

Just like before, Janelle Tollman leaned against the bedhead while sitting on the bed, with Noah cuddling next to her.

"Close your eyes and mom will start telling the story."

Noah obediently shut his eyes, and Janelle Tollman turned off the room lights, turning on the bedside sleep lamp instead.

Janelle Tollman opened the storybook and started telling the story softly.

After telling two or three pages, seeing the child seemed to be asleep, she closed the storybook.

Just as she was about to get up and leave, Noah suddenly opened his eyes, "Mom."

Janelle Tollman smiled, stroking Noah’s head, "You’re not asleep yet?"

Noah curiously asked, "Then what happened? Did the little lion find its dad?"

"How about mom tell you more tomorrow?"

Noah started guessing, "Mom, did the little lion’s parents get divorced? Is that why its dad is missing?"

Janelle Tollman’s whole body stiffened, feeling as if there was an underlying message in the child’s words.

Besides, the word "divorce" coming from Noah’s mouth was very surprising, leaving her momentarily unsure of how to respond.

Noah sat up in bed, looking at her seriously, "Mom, did you get divorced from dad too? Is that why brother and I don’t have a dad?"

Janelle Tollman pinched Noah’s nose, trying to brush off the topic, "Where did you hear such nonsense from? Hurry up and sleep, I’m sure your brother is already asleep."

But Noah didn’t want to let it go, holding onto her sleeve, "Lily’s mom and dad got a divorce, but her mom found her a new dad, who’s really nice to her."

Janelle Tollman took a deep breath, Noah looking at her with hopeful eyes, "Mom, can you find me a new dad too?"
